Beware of break-in's on the east end of STX

To my friends on the East end of St. Croix, look out for a daytime burglar in Cotton Valley. Thursday our house was robbed while we were at work. I suspect it to be someone living in the area as they didn't remove much more than a person or two can carry on foot. I also believe this is drug related as they stole things that would get them quick money and shaved my cat. Yes, I said they shaved my cat.

If anyone has information about any thieves in the area please come forward. My laptop and external hard drive were stolen which contain my last five years of photos; I will gladly work out a no questions asked reward for the hard drive or laptop. Luckily I have uploaded many photos to Facebook and will have those images.

To the SOB who shaved my cats' leg, stole my wife's jewelry and violated my space, pray you don't get caught by me, as I have a twisted moral compass and strongly believe in "an eye for an eye".

Hoping who ever did this gets caught soon.

Seriously, what moron shaves a cats leg while breaking into a home.
Glad he didn't hurt the cat, at least.
Traumatizing for all. Hope you catch the perp.

Hubby says it has to be a teenager or a drug addict to shave a cat.

We are watching out.

There are a number of houses in CV that would be a bad idea for someone to break into, even in daytime.

I heard the house in front of us was also broken into last week. Sounds like no gold was stolen but the thieves were kind enough to lock the doors on the way out. WTH!

We live in cv and checkIng strange cars out.
we also have two fierce loud dogs so let them try.
Our schedules have us in and out during the day.
Shaving a cat??? That is sick.

Not necessarily, it could have been a satanic ritual. 😉

But on a lighter note, this reminds me of my Dad & Mom's house getting burglarized back in the early 70's on St. Thomas over near TuTu Mall. My dad had two Doberman Pincher puppies brought in to train as guard dogs. They were almost a year old the next time a burglary occurred. The crooks not only stole gold and silver coins and jewelry, they also stole the dogs hahahahahahahahahaha. The dogs were recovered walking down the road where the crooks decided to drop them off a mile or so from the house. I guess they had second thought about those vicious guard dogs. Awwwwww good times.

I have heard from several CV residents and others in the vicinity that there have been many east end break-ins where only jewelry has been stolen. Someone must definitely be working the area.

I've heard about dogs getting stolen - a friend in NC had their pit bull stolen during a robbery! Must have gotten right in the car.

In Texas thieves use spray oven cleaner in the face to shut up and neutralize aggressive "guard" dogs. Hopefully that doesn't start happening here.

That would still be teenagers. 😉

I'm sure that the gold would be melted down and the gems sold on eBay or to local jewelry stores at a hefty discount.

Cant beat this price....
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELEC-4CH-CCTV-DVR-Motion-Detection-Security-System-Indoor-Outdoor-Color-Cameras-/111158186972?pt=US_Surveillance_Security_Systems&hash=item19e18b53dc

I read the product details and it appears there's no hard drive. It has to be purchased seperately. That's maybe why it's so cheap.

Yes it has no hard drive...but for less than $40 you can get a 500gb, and it will still be WAY lower than the $500 you will pay here...I got that system 2 years ago...I've since added more cameras...but it's still working just fine...I can even access it on my iphone.

And the reason for it being so cheap is because it's a lower quality...when I got it I figured I would just try it out since it was only a hundred bucks and if the cameras went bad I could buy 4 more systems and still be around the price of the ones here....but they lasted a couple years even through storms and they are still going...for the price it's worth looking into and it's a great deterrent...
