That big ship went up the WAPA channel and got stuck near the seaplane dock. It doesn't look good. They are going to be there for awhile.

We watched her pull anchor and head that way a short time ago. Guess we now know where she was headed.

Well, I need to re~state the condition of this vessel. It looks like it is anchored at a location very close to reef. Very good captain to take this into channels that smaller boats avoid.

Thanks for the clarification, Marlene! I was just about to follow up about this.

The WAPA channel is the preferred channel for deep draught vessels. The captain was in town today and asked about accommodations for fueling--he should be able to fuel at gallows bay with a draught of 12.2'. Roseway draws 13' and "Dulce Far Niente" fueled there twice a few years ago and she draws up to 15'.

They were not aground.

It turns out they were directed to anchor there by DPNR. There was no mishap, although it was a tight spot.
