By choice my only means of transportation here in Old Town Key West is a bicycle (3 spd/coaster brakes). A major grocery store is about 4 miles away , but I enjoy the exercise. Is daily in town bicycle transportation feasible in Csted/Fsted (not on highways).

I don't think so. The streets are pretty narrow, in bad shape, and the traffic is too hectic. I don't think it's safe. I mean sure, you could do it but it wouldn't be pretty.

You will need more than a three speed to pull yourself up the hills. A mountain bike with slicks would work. That is what the police ride.

Fredricksted would be ok, but Christiansted is too narrow. IMHO:)
