BMV Employee Convicted of falsifying docs

Surprising that they went after them for this.

This happens all the time. I didn't even realize there was inspection when I first got here as they would just tell me to pay the fee and never inspect my car.

One thing BMV should do is require that THEY actually put the sticker on the vehicle rather than hand it to you. Once you put it on you can't take it off (it flakes off in pieces) so this would prevent people from selling registration stickers (I know that this happens). In DC THEY put your inspection sticker on, they would never hand it to you to prevent this sort of thing.

I also REALLY wish they'd go to 2 year inspection/registration periods. Having to do it yearly is a pain.

I hope not. I've grown dependent on having someone else take my vehicle there and deal with the mess.

And, for those of us on Water Island, I hope this doesn't mean it's going to become more difficult or impossible to engage a service provider to renew the registration.
