Secure your pets to ensure they don't become frightened and run away if you live nearby the fireworks.

Parade was wonderful. Boat owners put such incredible effort into making their boats shine. We are used to boat Xmas parades on the Chesapeake Bay, where boats are minimally adorned. Not the case here. Each and every one of the boats had been carefully
and beautifully made up in honor of this season and the island celebration. The fireworks were also awesome. We went to the VIP section, simply bc I do not handle crowds well, and I need frequent bathroom availability. That VIP thing was a joke and a complete waste of $100.00! I can spend many many paragraphs explaining the disasters and the defensive response of the sponsors when they asked for feedback and a glowing response was not forthcoming. They did have a great porta potty though. That is all the credit I will give them. Next year will either go to a restaurant w a parade view, or better yet, spend the night at one of the reasonably priced hotels by the boardwalk.

m&m, sorry you had a not so great experience. the restroom situation is one reason we did not go downtown. we are lucky though that we could see all from out porch.

the boat parade was a really good one this year.

the fireworks were really nice. i thought they were a bit short. and then 5 minutes later-more and then ten minutes later-still more

Lucky you that you were able to see it from your home! We loved the parade and the fireworks. Just lovely. What I do not understand is why Christiansted does not install porta potties during these events. I was actually kidding with my husband that next year we could rent several of them, charge 50 cents per usage, and earn lots of bucks!! Again, we are brand new to the island so maybe have no idea what I am talking about. Just seems logical.

you have a point with the porta potties. never understood that either as there are not many public restrooms downtown

might be a good business

It was PACKED! I didn't even know that many people lived on stx! Haha! Had a great time after 45 min trying to find parking. Ended up parking at gallows bay and walking.
