Here are some great websites dealing with the boats and crews from our area who were taking care of thier boats yet managed to get into the direct path of Hurricane Ivan in Grenada and Trinidad.

www.stormcarib.com in Pleas for Help

We are currently setting up a data base for our fleet who were in the area. If you have friends or families operating charter boats, please keep in touch with me and we will get any information to you as soon as possible.

We are also setting up a fund to purchase simple supplies of bleach, water, clothing etc. that our boats will take down to Grenada. If you would like to help the relief effort, please contact me.

Pamela.

Pamela,

What do they need the most of? I could pick up more gallon jugs of drinking water when I go to the store, but maybe if you had some more specifics we could plan on what to buy. I can't volunteer my time at this point, but I most certainly want to help any way I can. Let me know. I know others would want to help, but may not know exactly what they could donate or if it still needed... Any updates on this? Have you already sent people down there or is this ongoing?

It shocked me to learn that Grenada had not been hit in over 100 years and that it was the recommended place to go during hurricane season. No wonder the devastation was so vast.

Thanks to you,

Teresa

Teresa,
There are several relief efforts going on .... right now, our boats in Trinidad are down there and delivering water, diesel, food and clothes to the yachties. Take a look at today's newspaper and it gives schedules for relief organizations. Our barge left this morning loaded to the gills with water, plastic sheeting, food, clothes and toys. Makes you feel good. But don't forget the Caymans - they are devasted.

Enjoy tonight's storm. HC refers to it as a "starter storm" - too funny - something for the newbies to learn from.

Really enjoyed meeting you!
Pamela.
