Hello Bobbyrick,

What are you looking for - someone to do the whole process or just to do the registration once on island??

I would like to fing someone to handle the whole process, However I could handle it on this end. I am kind of concerned, there seems to be so much for a newcomer to do on the island end that I really want someone for that. Someone to handle the whole process would be great.

Linda if you are on here, do you have contact information for the person who helped you - I sort of recall you saying that your landlord had put you in touch with someone that assisted with the process.

Sure can. We shipped with Tropical. Before the cars got here we contacted Executive Insurance, owner Lance Chardon - 773-6412. Our two cars are older so we couldn't get (or afford, I can't remember which) comprehensive, just liability. It was about the same or maybe a little less than in Kentucky.

Lance has a "guy" who will take all your paperwork and get your vehicles registered. I think this service cost $40 per vehicle. He can also walk you through the steps of getting the car clear of customs, paying the taxes, etc. And I believe those steps are here too.

There are folks who do this expiditing part time, usually retired government employees. I bet, for a little more $$, Lance Knows someone who would actually go with you to get the customs/taxing done. It's not complicated, but it requires two or three steps, taken in the correct order.

Tell him Linda sent you, maybe I'll get a break next year!! Joking!

Good luck.
