Has anyone used or heard of StarBand? They claim to have Broadband and they can bundle it with DishNetwork. I need high speed internet...any other suggestions?

Do you know if they are any good? Do they have interuptions in their service?

no matter what you get here, you will have disruptions in your service from time to time. Weather is often a contributing factor. When it rains heavily, our Dish Network goes out until the rainstorm stops. Geckos and frogs on the dish can also put it out of service until you clear them off. StarBand uses a satellite dish, so would be prey to the same types of problems.

Dam Geckos! Have you heard of any complaints with StarBand?

We have had such good connectivity with Choice that we never had to explore the StarBand option. We do plan to put it on our 65' sailboat when we bring it down in a few months. It'll give us phone, cable tv and internet for the 5-6 week trip from Seattle down the west coast through the Panama Canal and across the Caribbean to STX.
