Broadband navigation radar

If you're a boater,

Do you have one of the new broadband radars on your boat? These are new, in the last year or so. I'm really curious whether they have as much "sensitivity" as the conventional magnetron radars. A simple way to go after this question: can you see a swimmer in the water at a range of 2-3 nmi? I know this might be tough to answer, because you'd have to know that there were swimmers at that distance. But, if there were boats at Buck, and you were heading that way (or away from there), can you see swimmers around the boats at a distance of 2-3 nmi?

I know it has a lot to do with how high you mount the radar. So, if you can see swimmers, just let me know how you mounted the radar.

Thanks
