We are looking at an area in the Annaly region on St. Croix that has broadband internet service. Is there anyone who can explain to me how exactly that works. I am wondering if I can connect a wireless router or use a signal booster of some some sort if my indoor signal is weak. I would love some information about the ins and outs of this type of service.

Call BBVI - they were most helpful when we set up service 3 years ago.

Be sure and get the router BBVI recommends.

The signal comes to you by air from a pole transmitter to a receiver on your roof. The broadband comes in from the receiver on a wire to a jack. We hard wired from the jack in a back bedroom to the wireless router that we positioned in the center of the house where the computers reside. Our biggest obstacle was our home's thick cement interior walls that blocked the wifi rather than a weak signal.

We have experienced no problems with service to the receiver - but the transmitter is on a pole very near our property.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if there was a wired connection from the Receiver. That all makes sense. Thanks
