My boyfriend and I are planning to move to STT in the future sometime. He was wondering if there where any butcher shops in the Islands? He has won many local awards for the kinds of sausage he makes here. Would there be and interest for this type of business in STT?

There are a few stores that have excellent butcher sections he might want to check out.
Marina Market in Red Hook or Gourmet Gallery in Havensite and Crown Bay may work....
If he got the gumption to open his own butcher shop, I bet he'd be awfully popular!!

I would think there would be an interest. Wile we where visiting one supermarket made a big announcement that they now have a deli counter. The one grocery store we visited only had pre packaged deli meats and cheese. That was on STX. We found a deli which had a very limited selection. I would contact the Chamber of Commerce and get as much information on starting a business as you can. Also research where he would get his meat supplies. Perhaps he can arrange for a partnership with a Island meat producer. www.stxchamber.org
