Hello Everybody!,
I've been secretly reading this message board at work for a couple of weeks. My wife (a STT native) and I are trying to plan a move within a year. Our goal is to finish out the bottom of her mothers house, but in the mean time purchase a condo to live in with our two children, then when we finish the bottom of mom's, move in there and rent the condo.
My question is what condo developements are nice and can be purchased in the 150k - 175k range. Please keep in mind, though I've been to STT quite a few times I still don't know the island as well as I'd like and its been 20 years since my wife has lived there. Thanks in advance for all your help.

P.S. I hope the clean up went well. I wish I could have been there instead I'm in 100+ degree heat in Phoenix.

Hello islander@heart.

You may want to check island housing prices at Realtor.com; there you can see all of the real estate for sale on the islands. The 150k-175k range might get you a studio or one bedroom condo in need of extensive refurbishing, which would be a tight fit for a family of four. Also, in my experience, inexpensive fixer-uppers sell incredibly quickly so you may have to be on island to get one.

Good Luck!

If you search the St Thomas MLS (multiple Listing Service) you will find about 20 condos priced under $200k.

Some of them are two bedroom.

You can find the mls through several different realtors. A simple way is to go to www.virginislandsmls.com

good luck

Property on St Croix is a very good investment - inexpensive and going fast!
