I heard a rumor today that Mosler has gotten approval to relocate/reroute the road past Cane Bay.
Anyone know about this?

I think you are confusing the request to reroute the road north of F'sted with the northshore road that goes past Cane Bay. I know of no such project.

I heard that the road is supposed to go behind the Dive Shop and Full Moon and come out down past Spratnet. That would cut down on the congestion between those two and the beach.

I'm positive the info I received was Cane bay beach and rerouting the road.

I heard that several years ago, maybe it's finally going to happen.

I wouldn't count on it or worry about it. It sounds like one of our "soon come" projects.

At first I thought how silly. Full Moon and Spratnet aren't a football field apart. But...if taking the road behind would make the existing road more of a pedestrian path, that sounds like a great idea. If that isn't the plan, could someone tell me the benefit please.

The benefits are strictly for Warren. He owns several beachfront lots but the road divides them as such any homes built would have to be on the land side of the road not the water side. In other words, he can't build "beachfront" homes on them. He's been trying for years to have the road moved back to make his properties whole and more marketable.

I would like the road moved back and think it would make the Cane Bay beach area much safer. The way cars & motorcycles roar through there with so many people walking from the beach to the dive shop & bar is dangerous. Moving the road would benefit the public that uses the beach - not just Warren.

I agree, moving the road would benefit us all. Remember too it usually is covered in sand and impassable after a major storm.

If the road was moved and access was through private property, that access could possibly be limited to only the ends of the beach at Cane Bay. Think about the area on the north shore just east of Cane Bay, near the old school. I don't think you'll find many people in favor of that.
