Can anyone tell me anything they know about Cane Bay Reef Club that's supposed to be mid island STX? How about the Danish Manor Hotel in Christiansted?
Appreciate...

Cane Bay is mid island, I guess, but it's pretty out-of-the-way. If you want the beach, quiet, and a couple of great beach bars nearby, it might be just what you're looking for.

Danish Manor is right in Christiansted. If you want to be where the action is, it's your choice. Mostly a matter of taste.

I cannot recommend the Danish Manor at all. It is poorly run, poorly maintained and looks like it rents by the hour. The owner is uncooperative and the wonderful restaurant on premises, Tutto Bene, has been forced to move out of town by him. Having stayed there in 1999 and seeing it last week, I'd be fearful of vermin (seriously).

If you are looking for a budget property in C'sted I'd highly recommend Pink Fancy or (slightly higher) the Caravelle. The Comanche is in very bad repair but the King Christian is another viable option.

Cane Bay Reef Club is small but nice and well run, with excellent ownership. As Linda J. says - it is out of the way, but it is a good property.

I love St. Croix and hate dissing any part of it, but the Danish Manor is too gross to ignore.

Thank you for the insight re Cane Bay Reef. The Danish Manor staff seemed unprofessional on the telephone.... not a great welcoming sign. Thanks again!
