Car dealerships on St. Croix and/or Maintenance

My wife and I are buying a home near Christiansted and I trying to figure out car maintenance.  We plan to bring a Jeep to the island, either a Wrangler or Grand Cherokee (undecided as to which) so I’m wondering about maintenance.   Both are currently in warranty so that’s why I’m wondering about dealerships.  Any insight is appreciated.

Mainland warranties don't usually work here. I had a Toyota and thy wouldn't honor the warranty because it wasn't purchased here. The people at the Toyota/Jeep dealer are real a holes as well. Jeeps are common here so many places work on them.

Thanks, sounds like it’s best to ask around and simply look for a good mechanic.  I’m actually surprised given the island population and number of Jeeps that someone hasn’t opened a dealership.

Marvelous Marvin Automotive. on Midland Road is about as good a place you can find on St Croix for automotive repair & maintenance.. They are very good with any vehicle snd are very dependable. They are not cheap.  They are located just west of the cock fighting arena.

There is a Jeep dealer on island but they are extremely rude and unhelpful (even more than the normal rudeness that many workers here have). Their work is overpriced and not that good. I will never take my Jeep there again.

I had a chip key that I needed made. They quoted me $70 and a week to get in....no problem.

When it came in i gave them my key they copied it and said $144. I showed them my receipt and it only show $70. They responded it is $144 not $70, the price was a deposit, no where was it stated deposit, the total was $70. Told them no thanks, keep it. They refused to give me my key back and when I tried to speak to the desk person they just ignored me and looked at their computer screen. Not even acknowledging my presence. After being ignored I saw the cashier had my key still and stepped away. I took my key and left. I went to Caribbean lock and safe and got my chip key made way cheaper.
