Good morning,

I am having a small cocktail party on Tuesday the 22nd. I need a caterer who can (a) supply the food and (b) possibly serve? Party is at 4 PM through 6:30 for 20 people. On St. Thomas. Anyone?

does UVI on STT have a culinary school? The one on STX does and they did a pretty good job of catering some events I've been to. I was told their rates were better than other sources for similar menus.

Pamela,

I am a chef on STT that works with a friend of mine that does catering. Her name is Kat Cashion and she owns "The Wandering Soup Kitchen" Please give her a call at 340-998-0821. Im not sure what she will be able to do with the short time line since we have a large party Sunday but it doesn't hurt to find out. She may know of someone else who could help too.

I don't think UVI has a catering/culinary school, but there's a culinary program in the high school (Charlotte Amalie?). I've seen the kids at a few events on STT, and they were OK. You could tell they were training.

I've heard good things about the lady who used to own Giggling Gecko in International Plaza but now runs at least one of the restaurants at Bluebeard's last I heard. They used to own Burrito Deli in Red Hook. Needless to say I've forgotten her name!

At the Chamber's Business After Hours I really liked the creativity of Passionfruit Caterers, and Maynard of Cafe Amalia did an excellent job at the After Hours last week. He had artichokes, and I'm dying to figure out how he did them. That's something you don't see every day here in STT!

There are so many good chefs/caterers on STT. I think it depends on what type of food you want to serve and what your budget is.

Ted and Becky at Hook Line Sinker do an amazing job for the private jets catering - maybe they could help?
