shannah,

If you search this site you will find this topic has been frequently discussed and you can read recommendations by people who live on the island to which you intend to relocate. It is likely that where you live will dictate which provider you choose.

Hello Shannah,

Cellular service is provided by Sprint, Cingular Wireless, Centennial and Innovative Communication.

What cell provider do you have now?

As for keeping the actual phone. If your phone is not Sprint or a quad band phone it may not be worth bringing down. In most cases for the different providers that are here if you aren't a current customer you can sign up for a new account with a two year agreement and get a free phone or a very big discount on a new phone.

You can get a prepaid starting at $79.00 for phone. The first 10 minutes each day is .25 cents and then 10 cents per minute after that. You buy minutes to put on the phone when you need to. Prepaid is provided by Tracfone and Virgin Mobile.
