Hi,

I'd like to know if anyone knew offhand (or had their USVI building code manual nearby) what are the min/max thickness of a poured concrete flat roof in USVI? This would be for a 875 sq ft house (35x25).

Thanks.

STXB

This is a question for an engineer or a experienced builder. Don't look to a chat room for such info. If you are trying to figure out building costs always round up on materials.

A suspended slab floor must be at least 8 inch. A roof might be different, since there is no plumbing and you could leave timbers for support . Steal and steal work is the big cost with suspending a slab. The grid for the re bar is much tighter when the slab is in the air, compared to on the ground.

you could also get the local building code book ( st croix has the same code as miami-dade does ) the information would be in that.
