Just wondering if anyone knows of a ceramic shop or artist on island where someone could get something fired if needed. I have an idea but to turn it to reality I need a kiln and some clay and a pet friendly artist. STX preferred but STT would be ok.

While I'm on it... what other kinds of hobbies/crafts/classes are available on island.? I should know this, but either there are none or they are well hidden. 😉

Brian at Virgin Kayak makes Taino artifact reproductions and has workshops every now and then. He uses local clay he digs up and cleans. He uses a bon fire as his kiln and makes some amazing pieces. His shop is at Cane Bay. I would call him a "pet friendly artist".

Mandy has a kiln. She also has her own dogs so I don't know if her dogs are pet friendly 🙂

Hello there! I have found that for certain items I have to order from the states. There are quite a few wonderful artists/art teachers on island that are quite good. If you could tell me, what media do you use on your craft? If I have an idea of what type of art instruction you want, I have quite a few contacts (and one wonderful abstract instructor/guide). As such, I have a file full of artists, yearly workshops, free public are groups, small or individual instruction/other.

Just let me know and I will do all I can. Also, there is a pretty wonderful art store in mid island. Can give directions

Dan

Everyone else... THANKS! I have lots of people to contact now about this idea.
