Are there any items hard to find on any of the islands but seem to always be needed and are these items more expensive...?

Max

Clothing that isn't cookie-cutter identical to everyone else's, on STX. Also, fabric costs about twice as much here as in the states.

Linda - I never found them here - somebody told me they were at Agri fest - but I had mine shipped from SD.

I was having a sweet-tooth this morning when I posted that 🙂

Juanita,

I make hats and scarves for my family every year for the holidays. I make light weight blankets for around the house - heck , it is going to be 67 degrees up here tonight. Shopping bags, christmas ornaments- really a lot of things. Crocheting is good for my hands and keeps me from eating/smoking while hubby and I watch tv. Lately I've been doing "green" dishcloths and scrubbies for the kitchen along with hot pads, etc. Lap rugs, small toys for the babies at the children's center. It is therapy for me - mentaly.

Right now a light weight sweater would feel good 🙂

Pamela, I have a huge box of yarn and every crochet hook you can think of. Let me see what I have and I will PM you. You can have whatever I have. I don't have anytime to crochet these days. Do you cross stitch? I have tons of that stuff as well.

Tam

Dear Pamela,

I live on the North Side. I need booties. My Mom used to knit them for me. I wear a size 8. Please send me a pair. Any color.

Thanks,

oh... and stove parts!? We had to order the last few from Canada... get them shipped to GA and then family will ship it here for us.
We've become quite innovative in the kitchen.

there are girlscout cookies on STX?! I feel cheated that i didn't know.

I have to agree with steph. cute clothes can be hard to find here. bathing suits are almost impossible unless you want to spend a fortune.
