Change in the weather

Woke up this morning and glanced out the window toward Buck Island. Wind picked up last night, after several days of calm. Sky’s were uncharacteristically gray and the sea had a slight blue grey tint to it.  Wafting showers passed through earlier, a tiny swell broke lazily over a hidden reef.

It reminded me of an entirely different place. An early Fall view of the Atlantic from a south facing beach on Long Island NY.

But then I stepped outside and could feel right away it couldn’t be below eighty degrees. As the final cherished drips fell into my coffeemakers decanter, a sigh of relief washed over me....

I used to live on Long Island around 2000-2003 in west babylon and south huntington.  Really enjoyed my time there. 🙂

But I bet you don’t miss the crowds, the taxes, and the attitudes.

Miss my friends, but most moved from there.  Visit a few in Carle Place every other year, but no I do not miss it.  I still live in NY, but the other side,  so the taxes are still there and the NYC attitude can stay there ? .

singlefin, that was so poetic and summed up my feelings as well.

And...the bigger sigh of relief is from the end of the hurricane season!!!!
