Checked out the new iHOP on STX, service was abominable!

Hooray for Kitchen Nightmares! Finally a show that reveals why restaurants fail. Owners power struggling, no communication, inexperienced chef over their head, but usually it's mismanagement. Bad service is rarely the problem. That can be fixed with retraining or restaffing. I prefer the BBC version to the Fox's overdramatic pauses and commercial breaks but it's still great.

I have been as harsh a critic of IHOP as anyone on this forum, and I appreciate that Liz has taken an interest. HOWEVER, if you want to name names, please consider doing so in a private message. If you want to praise, bring it on! The young folk working at IHOP have not been trained enough, and they don't have life experience to deal with people. Some of them may have not eaten in sit down restaurants often, but they are working, and they need more support from management, not their faults aired individually (by name) in public. I felt badly after I gave a physical description in an earlier post. Her mother could have been reading that!

Smiling... yes, please PM me anything you would like to share that is specific to a particular individual - as some folks have already done. We have shared all commentary with our team, and it helps when they hear from our guests. Thank you (forum folks) for allowing me a small space in your community to address concerns. We're working to provide continuous training programs so that eating at IHOP is a delightful experience!

On September 26, 2010, we decided to eat out I hop and I must say that once again I was highly disappointed with the service. After waiting more than ten minutes at our table for the waitress, in which we had to ask another worker to go find her. I placed an order for a hot chocolate and 3 buttermilk pancakes seeing that in the past I’ve have to wait 4ever for my food that was gross, I’ll keep it simple. You know what at first when they open it wasn’t bad, services was pretty good, now it’s gone to the dogs! Well this time they took the cake because I waited about an hour before I could get my hot chocolate and it was too hot so I had to put it to sit for another 10 for it to cool off. Then my 3pancakes took another 40 minutes before I got it and by that time I was pissed, I got my bag n I left. In all the services from the waitress to our food were all horrible and I’m not sorry to say this but I will NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!
