anyone have a good, reasonable cleaning person that they would recommend on STX. Just looking for someone to come by maybe once a week and do the floors. We live close to the Buccaneer. Thanks

Hey, does anybody here have a maid clean their house while they work out at the gym? I have an idea that will save you money!

a caveat not to many people pay attention to. If you have a cleaning person come into your home or apartment you might consider her/him an independent contractor. That contractor must carry insurance (Workman's comp) have a certificate of insurance with a hold harmless clause. If they do not have insurance you can purchase an amendment with your homeowners insurance or tenant policy and they would be considered an employee ( you must take out taxes, SS etc. Not many people do this but if something happens your in a world of hurt.:S

STXBob: My husband has been telling me a lot lately (every time I complain about not having a housekeeper), "You could always quit the gym and just clean the house for exercise instead. And you'd save money!" I'm not buyin' it... cardio kick and Pilates are much more fun than sweeping and mopping, and I probably sweat less! 😀

It's funny that so many in our society (me included) have to exercise for good health while accomplishing nothing else. In the old days, you got exercise as a side effect of doing daily chores and walking.

STXBob, I so agree. When we were cruising, my husband would jog past construction workers (while I did the brightwork). Never really GOT it!

Years later, our physical capabilities have changed, and he STILL goes to the gym to ride a bike while I clean, paint, repair, etc. Hmmm, I guess I did marry him because he's smart.
