Coming to St. Croix the first week of October

My wife and I are coming to St. Croix for the first of many PMV's. Just wondering if there are any special events during this time period that we should see or do?

I have been lurking this forum and thank everyone for all the information that I have already gained. We are truly looking forward to it and understand that island life is going to be much different. We currently live in the Buffalo, NY area and do not want to endure many more of these winters. We had one of the coldest winters on record and record snowfall in November. I woke up to over 2' and we finished up with almost 5' in 3 days. Don't think I will miss that.
