Cost of Living

Hey everyone,

I may be moving to STT in the near future (May) and I'm looking for some advice. I feel this is the best place to look. I'm currently interviewing with a company on the island so my desire to move is not on a whim.

I've read through a countless number of threads here and hundreds of articles and one thing that seems to be prevalent is the high cost of living. So, one of the big deciding factors for my move will be the salary offered. I'm familiar with pay and cost of living here on the mainland, but clueless when it comes to the island. I haven't spoken numbers with the company yet, but I have another phone interview when them later in the week so it may be brought up then and I'd like to be prepared.

So, my question is this: For someone in my position, 22 years old & single, would a salary of $60k be enough to live comfortably? That number is a shot in the dark by the way. It's significantly less than what I would be offered here on the mainland. No idea what kind of number will be offered by the company. What about worst case scenario, I'm offered only $50k? Would that be sufficient?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. If all goes well, I will likely post a PMV topic in the near future.

Thanks
