Hello everyone! I've been reading this site for about 3 months now and I have some questions about shipping a car from the states to St. Thomas. I am looking to move down at the end of December.

How much will it cost to send a Jeep Wrangler from Florida to STT?
Who are the best people to contact for shipping?

Thanks for your time.

Try Barry at Fleming. He shipped my bronco to STX. The charges for the ship ride alone were ]bout 1200.

Given the number of autos for sale on the islands (particularly gven our transient society), the relatvely recent substantial increase in shipping costs and the undeniable fact that your otherwise pristine stateside car will have dings. scratches and dents in short shrift. almost best NOT to ship your vehicle but to buy here!

Thanks to everyone for their response. I considered buying a vehicle on the islands, but I have read many posts that said the quality of vehicles down there is usually less than a car brought from the states. Anyone's thoughts or peronal experiences would be very helpful. Thanks again!

I brought down two cars here from the states. If I had to do it all over again, I would buy a vehicle here. There is an OK selection, I am not sure you are any moer likely to get burned with a used car purchase here. As has been stated many times here, cars are not the status symbol here they are stateside. Keep it simple and running, that will meet 99% of your vehicle needs here. Cars look rough here because the roads are narrow and poorly maintained, many parking lots are laid out badly and that leads to lots of dents and dings. The salty air is pretty corrosive and alomst impossible to defend against. And as was stated in an earlier post, there are tooooo many cars here already.
