We are moving to St. Croix in less than a month. I am a crafter (paper crafts, decoupage and paint, cross stitch, crochet) and was wondering the availability of supplies on the island. I was thinking of stocking up before I came, but thought I should ask first.

Thanks

I don't know about the availability on STX but on STT the market is minimal. I'm working in a different medium than you but order what I need from eBay suppliers which so far has worked out beautifully.

We use Dick Blick. they ship here via USPS. They also have a great help line. if you have a question bout a product, want help comparing products or are not sure what you need, their product experts are great.

Get a catalog. Dick Blick has almost everything for any meduim.

We used to go Miami to buy, Pearl has a big store on A1A near Miami U in Coral Gables.

FrameUp does have some limited scrap booking supplies, and I always try to buy on island first. But --Joann"s also ships here with occasionally a free shipping sale. Walmart also has scrapbooking supplies with free shipping on a $50 order.

The Frame Up is pretty good for an island our size. They have a surprising amount of things you might actually need, and the prices are better than one might expect, considering the logistics of running an independent business on STX.

Agree! We are lucky to have it.

Definitly STOCK up! Way more fun to shop for crafts supplies in person than online. Also can be expensive sending it all in here. Not much available locally, so you need to be creative. I am looking for someone to learn macreme with me or to teach me, let me know if you are interested.
