Did anyone buy a Digital Labs TV/DVD combo?

Good morning!
I purchased a 19" Digital Labs TV/DVD combo from Kmart last week. It was the last one on the shelf, so they gave us a good price, but it didn't have a manual or remote. No problem (I thought). I thought I could find the manual on line and figured we use our Dish Satellite remotes anyway. Well, I can't find the "code" to set up the remote. This particular brand of TV has precious little info on google, nothing of any help.

If someone else has the manual and/or the remote, I would really appreciate borrowing it for a short time (hopefully an hour would be enough). It is my understanding that if I have an original remote I can "aim" my remote and the original remote at each other to get the codes??? If not, maybe the manual has the code?

Any other ideas? Thanks so much.

Have you scanned with the dish remote?
Press and hold the tv mode button until they all light up. Then hit power. Then arrow up until the tv shuts off. Then hit # to store the new freq. in the remote.
Not all TV brand codes are in a dish remote tho and some off brands won't cooperate.

did you go on line?Sometimes it is there. As a future point I would not have purchased it as a shelf model. Who knows how long it has been on and what has the history been. Unless you are stuck! Then you do what you need to do.

I prefer to arrow down myself.

Don't forget to press the SAT button when you're done so the remote will control the Dish receiver. 😎

Juanita...

I was searching for an answer for you and came upon this on a "fix it" type web site. The writer just bought a Digital Labs TV and was trying to program the remote to work a Comcast Cable converter.

"I just bought this TV and the tech support info is on the back of the manual. Resource is Starlite Consumer Electronics in City of Industry, CA. Ph 866-387-2027..."

I saw several messages asking for remote codes for Digital Labs equipment. But nothing with real answers.

Good luck!

Thanks so much. Sky, yes we tried that. We talked to the manager of Kmart today (BTW, his name is Michael, and he is a keeper!), He is looking for the manual and remote for us, as well as trying to contact someone in the home office who might know where to get info.

specialk, Thank you too. That is great information. I can't call them right now because the apartment with the new TV is occupied, but tomorrow afternoon, while she's out, we'll give it a try. I'll let you know.

Thanks again everyone!

Hi,
Sorry, forgot to update. Nothing solved yet. Michael, at Kmart has "ordered" us a remote. No idea from where...I wasn't able to find one. Should be a couple more weeks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I called Starlite in CA. They were quite nice, but unable to help. The rep I talked to said the Dig. Labs TVs don't have codes, at least not yet. He said they are working on it, but if I found a remote that listed Starlite as a brand, the code MIGHT work, probably not. He was right. I did find an RCA remote with Starlite listed, but the code didn't do it.

At this point, our only hope is that Kmart can locate a remote. Maybe I'll try ebay or post a "wanted" on craigslist.

Thanks for asking. We have exchanged the TV in the apartment, and now the Dig. Labs is just taking up space in our house, waiting hopefully!:-)

Very few TVs won't accept the Dishnetwork remote.
Looks like Digital labs is one of them.
