disabling a car alarm

Hi all,
I am in desperate need of some help! I bought a honda accord last month that has an aftermarket viper car alarm. Last week when I went to start the car, the alarm went off and the car wouldn't start. In the meantime I have had a couple people try to reset it with no success. Apparently, it is attached to the distributor so even though the alarm is reset/disengaged, it still will not allow the car to start. It has been a week with no car, if anyone can help me out-please let me know. I got a new battery for the remote, didn't help, called Mike's electronics and the alarm guy hasn't been around and is not returning messages.... thanks for any advice....

Kiki

Did you try the Honda place? Caribbean Auto Mart?

Maybe go into town and ask one of the bad guys if they could do it for you 🙂 Sorry, I couldn't resist. I hope you can find a solution...I'll ask some friends if they have any thoughts.

Sometimes there is a hidden button or switch under the dash, you need to have the ignition switched on and press it or hold it while starting to reset. If not I would try calling any viper installer in the states or the company directly. Also did you try locking and then unlocking with the remote with the doors closed?
Good luck.

"Apparently, it is attached to the distributor"
This thing has a distributor?
How old is this thing???????

Jump the distributor power, & electric fuel pump(or, do you have a old time carburetor?

If it`s newer, splice the old harness wires back & power the ignition ECM via a IGN circuit.
You can also get the model # & contact the mfg.
The installer may have installed a bypass, look for the switch.
Also, on very old alarms, simply disconnect the power9usually run from the fuse box.
The normally closed relays will let everything work.
Good luck!

It's a silly idea but you would be surprised what you can find on You tube.
