Good Morning! Are dogs allowed on the people ferry from STT to STJ? And if so, is there a cost?

Thanks,
Kelly

The last time I inquired about doing this I was told, yes, but the dog has to be muzzled.
I don't recall any discussion of additional costs.

Last time I was told that they now have to be in a carrier (like an airline carrier) but unsure how this would work for a large dog.

Jen, I think we'll all just have to pyle into the green machine and take the car ferry over. We all really enjoyed Sunday, Skittles crashed on the way home and slept all the way through till this morning.

OK, if you guy's are coming over to STJ with puppies for a "play date" I would love to get our little ones involved 🙂
They do not get much interaction with other dogs (I don't really know many dog owners on STJ and all I tend to see are the pit bull mixes and I know most are probably wonderful dogs but I get nervous as I don't know the owners) and I have 2 really "barky" puppies around other dogs when they do see them and I really want to socialize them so they don't grow up to be annoying, so would love to meet other owners whos dogs know how to handle "young ones" who need to be put in there place but not hurt 🙂
Please let me know
Thanks Pia

I have two dogs, a five-year-old scottish terrier and an island mix puppy, 8 months old, that we got from the ACC. We've taken both of them to Gibney before, although we take the puppy more often than the terrier, because the terrier does get very excited and "barky" as well. We'd love to play with other dogs at Gibney, or any other place you might know of where dogs can play.
Thanks!
Andrea

sounds like fun! I'll definitely let you know next time I head over to STJ. Maybe you can bring the puppies to Hull Bay on STT? I usually take my dog there on Sundays.

Hello!

My wife and I are leaving Tues. next week with my "wingman" MUD! He's a beautiful chocolate lab that most can't even recognize as a lab! The problem is most don't know what a real lab looks like!!!!
He's a little squatty body kinda like a pit but is a pure English bred dog to meet all AKC specs. So if you see him don't frett!
He's the mostest friendliest dog around! He'd also be a good influence on yours.
Next Tuesday, Independent Boat Yard, were moving aboard the "Wind Witch" soon to be the Dani D.!
I would love to know more about dog life , the do's and dont's etc.
Thanks,

Bill

I don't want to be thought of as an anti-doggie person, because I'm not, BUT I thought that dogs were prohibited from the beaches in the National Park. I understand that dogs are the biggest turtle egg predators.

That is correct, they are prohibited from the beaches in the National Park, but they are allowed on Non National Park beaches and they are allowed on any National Park Trail as long as they are on a leash.
