Exactly Hiya. LOL

I was just thinking I'm not going to watch the super bowl tonight, so maybe I'll just log in here and get all the competition and violence I can handle!

(NOT really calling football "violent", just not coming up with a better word right now.)

Seriously though, some of these recent threads obviously were not started to really help anyone, just a way to vent or cause trouble. As I've said several times, no need to take it so seriously, just take what you want from the info here and ignore the rest. It's way too easy for someone with an anonymous handle to let their evil twin out. No worries!

Pre move visit
To see if you would really like it here
Not come as a vacation, go to the bank, store, gas station, post office, etc and etc.
Trying to get a feel if daily living. If you will work, go out durning rush hour.

As someone who has benefited from the experiences and advice Alexandra provides (and no, I did not purchase any real estate from her), I can vouch for her genuine interest in helping people get acquainted with St. Croix and all that's involved in "making the move." For anyone to insinuate she has a hidden agenda or nefarious intentions is either wrong-headed or uninformed, or the result of someone having a personal axe to grind.

Just once, I'd like to see a thread on this forum not somehow get derailed by someone's personal attacks or venting. This thing is so valuable for so many people, but many times I myself get turned off by the tone of some of the people participating. I can see how it could take a newcomer aback and make him or her think twice about even posing a question.

Hey Bernie,
I started this thread with the suggestion that if you don't have the money, no job skills,no savings etc., that you should stay where you are. Only to be twisted into telling people I stated don't come, and then she states that poor is poor no matter where you live. You don't live here, you vacation here during tourist season. Stay here a year and watch the hungry families at the Grocery store putting things back at the cashier counter because they don' t have the money, or the man at the gas station asking for 50cents because he pumped to much gas and didn't have the money, the kid at the ball field crying because he was hungry. So if this isn't civil enough for some and construed as a personal attack by you so be it.. Oh Poor is Poor but on the islands we have working Poor and kids still go hungry. So Bernie, Edward and others who don't like the tone TB.

I (and I think others) were reacting to this: "Spoken like a true Realtor on the hunt for more customers."

That seemed like an unprovoked personal attack to me, that's all. I'm not taking issue with your original points per se.
