I am not sure if this forum is the 'best' place to post this BUT I do feel that many residents frequent and respond here -- so it may get removed but also may get REPOSTED by people who do know a better site for response. All residents should fill it out.

It is an important survey - ending Sept 30 - coordinated by UVI Cell

If residents do find that economic/Tourism survey worthwhile you might also consider responding to the current VIPD survey on Community Engagement

Thanks for posting.  I took the first survey already but just took the second one.  I like that they are putting these out. I hope they can do a bigger outreach and get people to take the surveys and put the collected data to good use.

Hard to find any positives to their questions.

I didn’t find it surprising the the economic development was tied to tourism survey.  It’s pretty clear that we need to diversify our economy so we don’t so heavily rely on tourism.  Which will be hard to do until we have a reliable power grid.

I thought the difference in survey styles was interesting. Economic development and tourism wants you to 'spell it out' and required written answers to all but one of the questions. It does look like they are using it to populate an 'environmental scan' for strategic planning.

I encourage everyone to take it and be honest in your answers so that they have the best opportunity possible to plan appropriately.

Although the police department may not want to know the same information, from what I've read and observed, they don't seem to have a strategic plan (or be publicly acting on it if they do). I would strongly encourage the police department to undertake a similar path.

Although writing a strategic plan is a good beginning, they're just words on a page if the next steps of creating an operational plan and executing it aren't undertaken.

Throughout my career, I've seen many organizations that have created strategic plans and a few that have genuinely transformed and improved by successfully implementing them.

If they're willing and committed to strategic improvement, I'm willing to assist and advise them honestly (even if all they want me to do is fill out a survey).
