I'm going into rec. management and I am considering taking a year off from school to try to get a resort job somewhere in the Virgin Islands. I would prefer a job of putting activities together at a resort, but any resort job may be okay just to "get my foot in the door" somewhere. Where would my best bet be to look for a job like this? What is the availablity like? Any help would be very appriciated, and also any extra information you can give me about moving to the V.I would be great too!

Holly: There are several Marriott properties on St Thomas: The Reef, Renaissance, The Ritz-Carlton. You might try their corporate offices. Maho Bay Campground on St John has an internship-type program, and you might contact them. Otherwise, jobs are pretty much found the old-fashioned way, beating the bushes and personal contact.

www.maho.org I believe is where you can find information about the intern work/stay program Maho has. Look at that sites navigation for something to that effect.
Also might call the big resorts East Ender mentioned and ask for Human Resources or who ever is incharge of hiring and see about applying. Also might look for their web sites. The larger resorts often have career links on their pages.
