Hopefully if everything goes well I will depart from my regular life in Texas and journey to adventure and new friends in either St. Croix or St. Thomas. I will be there in 9 months, and must say you will all be lucky to have an interesting and exciting person like me become one of you, and I hope your island will soon become our island. Save me a nice well priced for the area condo, and prepare to be dazzled by my many culinary delights I will prepare. If I like you, you are welcome to hang out with me after work, and I will tell you stories about my current great state.

My wife will require a job, and I am sure you will accomodate her.

WATCH OUT YALL, HERE I COME!

James the future Islander!!!

Sheesh! ANOTHER Texan???? Well, James, I hope you bring your favorite chili recipe for the Texas Society Chili Cook-Off, usually in September on St Thomas. And remember, if we like YOU, we might let you stay! 😉

The chili recipe will be there!!

I hope you have decent vegetables, or at least good growing dirt.

Hey, I'm just curious as to where in Texas you are coming from? I'm currently preparing for a move to the island myself!

James: The nickname for St Thomas is "The Rock", which tells you something of the soil. St Croix has more agriculture, but a lot of people in the VI do container gardening. Vegetables I have seen include: okra, spinach, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant (a local small lilac version), lettuce. Lots of folks raise herbs-basil, mint, etc. Fruits are more plentiful: mango, papaya, banana, and some new ones like genip, soursop, mamie apple, sea grapes.
