Hello I will be arriving to St. Thomas Sept. 9. I was wondering what the deal was with firearms. I have some guns that I really dont want to sell and I know there is no real use for them there but I want them for travel. Can I just fly them down there or no. Thanks Daniel

Daniel,

You have to get a public safety department permit before you can take it down. They also do a background search. Its best to let a federal firearms dealer to hold it for you and then ship it down after you have gotten all your paperwork. Also I have heard that to get the permit you have to have a safe to keep it in and they will check to make sure that you have it. Or at least that is what I have been told by someone that is a member of the gun club on STX. For more information you may call 774-2211 ex 225. Hope that helps!
