Fireworks

Are there many occasions for fireworks shows in the USVI? Are there any fireworks operators there? I hold a shooter's license from Ohio which permits me to set up professional displays and shoot. I would like to work with a pyro crew occasionally after I move down there and I'm wondering whether this is a possibility or whether I will have to give up that passion.

Here in St. Thomas, the only fireworks I've seen in the last 7 years has been the Carnival fireworks at the end of April/beginning of May in Charlote Amalie harbor, and the Carnival/4th of July fireworks in Cruz Bay on ST. John. Maybe there would be more if there was someone like yourself promoting it? I've seen a couple little shows at Hull Bay and the Ritz that were put on by some businesses that were having their company functions here. I just looked in the VI phone book, and there was no heading for "Fireworks". You can peruse the Yellow Pages at www.viphonebook.com.
