Frederiksted Beach tonight at dark. I've been told that A) that's the only place on island doing them and B) you have to be right there to see them, as they aren't shot very high. I'm a little disappointed that no one out East is doing them, because I don't want to wade through the drunk drivers and crazy mayhem all the way there and back here in the dark!

There are plenty of viewpoints up and down the "west coast". The farther away from the pier, the less crowded, but you'll still see everything. The traffic will be thick so arrive early, and be patient when leaving, or just hang out until the crowds disperse. If you plan to hang out at one of the restaurants, they may be crowded.

I've seen Emancipation Day fireworks listed for tonight in St. Croix This Week and The Source, the only place I've read about July 4th fireworks is this thread. Seems odd there would be two displays??? I'm hoping there is a show July 4th . .. already invited guests to watch from our vantage point 🙂

There will definitely be fireworks shot off from the st croix country club (next to frederiksted pier) on July 4th. Anywhere On the waterfront, coconuts, frederiksted coast and cottages is a good view of them. Past rainbow they become hard to see because of the trees.

There is an article in the Daily News this morning indicating that the fireworks are Sunday at 8pm at the pier. It also says the Fredricksted Economic Development Association has organized it for 5 years, but the St Croix Country Club did prior to that. I wonder if we will be able to see them over here on the east end of St Thomas...

They are on Sunday the 4th and always (last few yrs) launched from the beach in front of what they call the Country Club. It could appear like they are coming from the base of the pier though. They used to do a great display at the Yacht Club out east until an accident. Chuck got burned so they shut them down.(I heard)

I was sitting at N 2 the Blue last year, right next to the CC and the fireworks were set off from the end of the pier.

Let's hope those of you who are saying Sunday are correct. That's what I've heard also, but stcroixthisweek.com newsletter is saying tonight.

The last 2 displays were definitely set off from the pier - not the beach. I was there during the day watching them set up.

Last year there were 4th of July fireworks in C'sted. But not this year?

I don't recall - was last year's display a special occasion - other than the 4th of July?
