I am relocating beginning of July to STX. I have gotten mixed reviews on fishing not for sport but for food. I was told by some that good eating fish are hard to come by.

There are a variety of good eating fish in the STX waters. It all depends on where you go to fish. If you fish on a coral reef, you get the wrong kind of fish. Try fishing on the south shore and you will get better food fish to eat. Many boats also head east of the island to where the wahoo and mahi and tuna tend to run much of the year. There is also a lot of conch in many different areas.
