I have been off island for a few months. What happened to the "Power Ho" gym on STX?
Seems to me Flex gym may go out of business too with the rates they posted.

The people who run Flex just moved to the island. They are working super hard to make it a great gym. I hope everything goes well for them.

their rates seem to be what it takes to run a great gym on this island. They apparently have several free classes and they also have discounts for certain corporations. I know I got a great discount because I work at the hospital and teachers also get a good discount.

I wish the new comers at Flex Gym well also. That business is surely a tricky one.
Lose two people at $500 a year for the one person at $800 a year?
The asking membership/registration cost is beyond my comfort zone and I have plenty of expendable income.
I don't have a corporation discount, I will look into it though; I work for a huge corporation.
I met the people that run it, they seem to be really nice. I hope everything works out for them.

I do miss the POWER HO sign, it always made me laugh.

Are they still doing the 99 day for $99 specials?

NO, unfortunately, they are not doing Powerhouse's 99 for $99. They honored if you had it. Mine expired and I agree with Mango, the initial membership and then monthly payments are too much, and same with Beeston Hill. At least Beeston has a pool to do laps for the price. Flex stayed with the equipment, and it was a great place to go to. I bought a treadmill.

Does anyone know if Flex offers classes such as cardio kickboxing or "boot camps"?

I go to Beaston and like it but I hope that Flex does well as competition really does do good things. My Beaston membership fees dropped signficantly after Power Ho opened up and they got all new gear. This is a tough business to be in, I was figuring out the numbers and couldn't see how you could make them work...

Flex Gym Rates:
$600/year or
350/half year or
69.95 per month or
59.95 per month if you direct withdrawl
Corporate rates are less (teachers, hospital) so ask....
There is also an initial sign up fee of, I think, 99.

Popflops,
Its $100 registration + $700 year.
I did get a better deal from them by asking about various corporate offers. They hooked me up.
Good folks. Thanks Flex!
