Does anyone know when there is going to be flu shot clinic day around Stt? Usually the Department of Health has free flu shots for the public around island. For example, at the mall, small town Kmart, or if they are conducting a health fair.

Thanks for any information!

One of the big flu shot manufacturers is right underneath Sandy just about now - so check that there is no interruption in supply and that they have the vaccine there.

They had one in the mall about a week ago. I got my shot then. They are supposed to have two other dates. But I'm not sure where they will be held. Call the Dept of Health to get the exact dates and locations. They haven't done a good job of advertising this year.

I got mine last year in the mall by accident. I just happened upon it.

Agree, the Dept. of Health is not doing a good job at all advertising this year. I wish I knew about it at the mall a week ago 🙁
They have a commercial on TV advising you to get the flu shot, but they need to advertise more concerning the days they are conducting the flu shot clinics on island. None where even listed on their website.

I hope the new health commissioner takes the job seriously, like she says she is going to.

If any board member sees something on TV or in the newspaper, etc. that you think will benefit another or the community, please post.
Flu shot clinics, health fairs, etc. will be of great help to others. Thank you!

thanks for your concern congasan, but most of that 'science' has been debunked - flu shot for me and my hubby.

Do you have a link or source? I bet the "debunking" has been done by interests of big pharma who is in bed with big finance.

I encourage people to think for themselves and not always blindly follow all advice given. Our experts are are "real experts" yours are only "psudo experts". I did not like the "style" of the film, etc. This did not ring any more true for me than the evidence on the other side. Make your own decisions and think for yourself especially when injecting stuff into your bloodstream. Many people have gotten sick from the shot although many "experts" claim thats impossible. And, I've known several people who got the flu even after getting the shot. No shot for me!

1. I encourage people to think for themselves and not always blindly follow all advice given.

2. And, I've known several people who got the flu even after getting the shot. No shot for me!

1. I couldn't agree more and which is why I don't agree with you. I respect your right to have a different opinion from me and if you choose not to be vaccinated then that's of course entirely up to you.

2. As have I over many years. Not every vaccine can combat every 'flu strain as new variants pop up all the time. We're particularly susceptible here in a high risk tourist environment. However, I'm at high risk for developing pneumonia so anything which will reduce my chances of this is worth it to me. My choice based on my own diligent research.
