Thought some of you might be interested:

The North Shore of St. Croix has a brand new association whose mission is to preserve, enhance and promote the lush, mountainous side of the island. The name of the new association is simply the North Shore St. Croix Association. A new website has been created where each business and organization is added as members join. After the first two weeks, there are already 37 participating members, 30 highlighted destinations, an events calendar, and plans are being made for the first official meeting. Eric Nelson, resident and founder of the association, is excited that so many North Shore people have joined so quickly. "In my eyes the North Shore is a precious Caribbean gem with so many friendly, creative people who really care. I hoped that by building this website I could get the ball rolling and then let the members lead the way. So far the response has been very positive, new members seem excited, and we're looking forward to our first meeting."

Today, Eric is encouraging residents, businesses, organizations and visitors to go to the new website to join in. As membership increases, the association hopes it will give the North Shore a more unified voice toward preservation and improvement issues. So far members have mentioned ideas such as: promoting the North Shore as a destination, historic appreciation, crime prevention, beach beautification, and various other methods designed to improve the North Shore experience. An occasional email will be sent out to let members know about meetings and progress. The free sign-up form is located on the right side of the website at www.northshorestcroix.com
