Hello Everyone,

I have found this site so informative, but I still have probably a million or so questions. First off, I could possibly be moving to the Virgin Islands in maybe 1 - 2 yrs and I am researching different oppurtunities. Does anyone have any information on franchise oppurtunites in St. Thomas? I did notice on my visit there was a subway, curves and some other franchises.
Thank you for any info you can provide!
Sherry

Maby a Taco Johns, Dunken Doughnuts. We don't need a Dennie's though.

Forget St. Thomas! Come and open a few Taco Bells on St. Croix! Talk about an untapped market!

If you're looking for franchise opportunities, you should probably first research franchise companies, find out what they need from you insofar as basic investment is concerned and then research real estate prices, land prices, etc. Most restaurant franchisees require that the building meets their particular requirements and set-up and that requires not only a lot of money in basic equipment set-up but the construction of the building itself which they may or may not help you with.

A Burger King used to be here on STT years ago but was damaged in Hurricane Marilyn if I remember correctly and never re-opened. A Taco Bell was also here and folded when "road works" outside their location disturbed their business.

You will need plenty of money for initial set-up, and doing business in general here is not easy and not for the faint-hearted, so be forewarned!
