Hi!
I hope you can help me.
I cuurently live in the UK and work in IT.
How easy is it to get a job in the US VI if you are not a US citizen?
My girlfriend is going to work in the BVIs, and no jobs are advertised there, so was thinking of moving to the US VI
to be close to her
Any advice is really appreciated
Matt

Matt it is very difficult to get a job in the US unless you have the right documents. I have heared a company can sponsor you. However, they will have to prove that there is no US citizen who can do your job. With so many computer people being laid off after the last big internet business crash I daubt that is the case. Then there are the Green Card Lotteries I hear about. This started after my time and I have not much knowlege of them. Your best bet is a UK company who also is represented in the US and hires you.

Hello Matt,

A side thought... it would seem more beneficial relationship wise and also in terms of cost for you both to look for something in the BVIs in your field or if you can't find anything right away in your field then look for a job outside your field while you keep looking so that you can be with your girlfriend. Otherwise you will be commuting to visit each other at around $40 each trip plus paying separate rents, cars and all living expenses rather then potentially sharing them and being together. Just a thought.

As for your question... you will need to get all the work documentation in order. You can try
