This is an interesting vi consortium article and a step in the right direction by DCLA.

I stopped by Hometown on STT yesterday and they were back up to $3.50 but said they thought it would be back down today. I wasn't in desperate need of gas so passed. 😀

The sign at hometown said 2.91 at 4:15 yesterday afternoon. Was it after that?

So what is an allowable profit margin for a gas station.

BTW, that story is as fake as any they have run before. Lies and incorrect 'facts'.

Well the "market" should dictate that since it is always right, no? When collusion occurs the market isn't right

And collusion is exactly what is happening on St. Croix

I appreciate everyone posting where the lowest prices are to be found. No sense in paying more than one must.
Thanks!

I was there around 11:00 AM and went inside to ask the price as the only sign out front was the usual "Gas sale" sandwich board. No worries, got it for 2.91 this morning at Racetrack in Sugar Estate.:D

They must have put up the price thanks to your asking. I'm sure the taxi drivers are thrilled!

I asked the price and when told $3.50 asked about the reduction which they then told me would probably be back down tomorrow - at which I said I'd come back then. All done in good humor (I know the people there quite well) but since they lost my sale they maybe decided not to keep switching around. But since I was by the other station today which had the lower price, got it there rather than going out my way to return to Hometown.

Still $3.57 @Racetrack by Sugar Estate PO but $3.17 @ Jarrah's just before the Sugar Estate PO. First time I've seen different prices at those 2 pumps. I'll be looking for the $2.91 price when I next need gas.

Racetrack is where I got it for $2.91 three days ago. Passed by the station next to Tutu Park Mall today and it was something like $3.37. Maybe when you next need gas you should call around to the stations you're planning on passing by that day!

I wish I had the time to do this, but maybe someone could put together a spreadsheet and post it on Facebook (or similar) where members can update prices.

The common apps that I quickly reviewed don't work for us foreigners.

Maybe if enough people start pinging GasBuddy.com they will get to USVI sooner than later. I've already asked.

Don't forget to ask for your senior discount. The GasCo stations give a senior discount. I got 5% off at Gateway and a friend told me that he got 10% off at Shauma.

We are your Gas Buddies. Many apps, IMO, focus on major metropolitan areas. VI does not qualify so you need alternate info sources. Like the telephone.

Anyone know of any places in STT that offer those discounts?

The new low price on St Thomas seems to be $3.19.

I looked at that Gas Buddy site. It said it didn't know where I was. LOL

No gas stations are listed by Human Services as offering a senior discount on gas and I've never known of any which do but I guess one can only ask!
