*SO I've read many articles on getting a vehicle to the islands and most people say to have someone from the island just do it for you. Is that a good idea and how do I get into contact with them and how much should I expect to pay? I know the ferry is $1000, but above and beyond that, any estimates? Thankyou, many more questions to come!!

Sincerely,
Adria Fedishen

We just shipped a new Jeep. We used Double A Auto Moving and Transport. They have been helpful and considerate, as we are total novices. The # is 888-779-9153. They had an independent trucker pick it up here in MN for overland transport to FL
($795). Then they will ship from FL for $1045. Insurance was extra......$400. Dont know how important the insurance really is, but at this point we did it rather than wish we had.

Bob Lynch Moving and Storage is going to pick the truck up for us and get it through customs and to their warehouse. This step is $175, and will be well worth it for us, as we are on St. John.

This is all in motion as I type. Ask me later how it all turned out. Feel free to email.
