To get stuff onto STX , from PR, what are the procedures? Duty, customs, etc?
Or just pick-up and go?
Thanks

I usually ship on Black Hawk/Water Spirit. Right into C'sted. The process is easy, you pay for your frieght and then go through Customs and pay any duties. Back your truck up and drive off with your merchandise. Home Depot charges a $75.00 or so fee to deliver to the docks in San Juan, some other companies deliver for free (tile, stone, etc.).

Many times I just bring it back with me too. If I go over there to shop I just take an extra roll up duffle that I carry in my back pack. While shopping at Plaza Las Americas you can store your purchases throughout the day at one of the big stores check in and then at end of day pack it all in your duffel and head for the airport. Who knows what they will charge now with new rules, but its not as much as mailing, I'm sure.

I have mailed items to myself from there as well. Once, when shopping in old san juan I went crazy buying big stuff (sheets, towels, etc. ) at the Marshalls and didn't want to carry it around with me so I just boxed it up and walked next door to the post office and mailed it over here. It was here two days later.

Good luck. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much!! We are VERY familiar with "schlepping" stuff.
Do the freighters carry passengers? I know it may be a round-about way, but its island time.
Cheers!
