Hello all! Any recommendations on reliable car mechanics? I'm looking to buy a car from someone but I would like it checked out first and the Auto Mart Service center doesn't have anything until Feb 2nd, which is alittle to late. Any help would be well appreciated! Thanks!

I have yet to find a good mechanic but what I can tell you is to stay away from the "Auto Clinic," it's in town by the baseball stadium. They, in my case, performed sub-par work and their customer service is terrible.

Seriously, I herd Sibbly Bryan is good(not shure of the spelling).
A good reputation has to be earned & he has one.

The best mechanic on STX is Robert at MLZ Auto Repair located in the industrial park behind the shooting range. Honest, Great Mechanic and takes great pride in his work. He is the owner.

I have found these shops to be fair and reliable depending on the type of car and repair needed:
Bevins -- 776-2197 - BMW especially
Elder - 774-4022 - suspension and brakes
Matthew - 774-8185 - Jeep - general repairs
Cash - 776-4965 - mufflers and inspection help
