Offered a job working in Charlotte Amaliein the Nisky Center. I am worried about how accustomed I have gotten to having everything at my fingertips while living in New York. Biggest move I ever made was from New York to Florida. For personal reasons I have been back in New York for two years. Although I hate winters I do value the excitement and history of the city, but I have grown weary of the crowds, noise, and filth.

Every year I travel to the Caribbean but living there is whole different story. As a single person I will be going it alone. I haven't accepted the position yet will be visiting in a couple weeks. Appreciate any feed back.

Hello Iola,

There is a great moving story by a gal from New York on the site that moved down for 9 months and moved back; lots of great opinions, experiences in the story. Here is the link https://www.vimovingcenter.com/what_to_expect/movingstory32.php.

Congrats on the job offer. Nisky is a small shopping center, just outside downtown Charlotte Amalie; close to the airport. Have you been to St. Thomas while visiting the Caribbean?

Read the book "Don't Stop the Carnival", by Herman Wouk, on your PMV. This ain't NYC by any stretch, but a bunch of us love it here!

I think is good to be nervous. It keeps your feed on the ground. We are in the middle of interviews as well. I am use to traveling but have gotten land logged. I am over due for a move. However, my husband never really moved far from his birthplace. You can imagine how nervous he is. We will evaluate all and in the end make the right choice. We are young enough to go for it. Our children are not in school yet. Good timeing over all.
