Which governor are we talking about? Dejongh and his staff went to the same territorial governor's conference with the Department of the Interior that Mapp did.
And the former First Lady used $140,000.00 of lottery funds to underwrite a first class trip to Rwanda with family members. Maybe that was the previous Burkina Fasso reference?
Let's put the spending of the current and penultimate governors under the same microscope.

It'll be a great day when you stop spreading inflammatory misinformation.

"Let's put the spending of the current and penultimate governors under the same microscope."

Oh please!
Let's just stop the spending for Mapp's lavish lifestyle at taxpayer expense. He's the one that said we are in a dire financial crisis yet
he acts like monarch of the realm with the keys to an unlimited treasury and has no problem spending on his continued wannabe lavish lifestyle.

Who knows how much hiring his 30 plus family members and all his cronies is costing us.

Why are we paying for his linens, towels, pots, pans and groceries in addition to his (and his buddy's) accommodations, first class travel, private chef, body guards, drivers for himself and Potter, Potter's condo and furnishings and who knows what else!??!

It is a travesty.
It shows a complete lack of respect, integrity and ethics but it comes as no surprise!

No, let's look at it for what it is. Just because someone else did it does not make it OK.

Here's an excellent letter by Cecil Benjamin, Democratic Party Chairman to Senate President Neville James and Majority Leader Samuel Sanes.

The Rwanda trip wasn't paid for by taxpayers. Why are people lying on this Board? That was an educational trip. We did not pay for DeJongh to go dance in the NYC parade.

How could anyone compare taking kids to Rwanda (one of the poorest places in the world) with traveling to NYC and staying at the Four Seasons? Completely disingenuous position.

"MissJustice" has brought this up several times and seen it refuted just as many times. Her MO is to sling ca-ca over and over again in the hope that some of it will stick.

She doesn't seem to mind her precious Gov. Mapp's out of control spending sprees, however.

How does Mapp get away with spending all of that on hotels?

Just think of how much more he'll spend in the next 3 plus years as our reiging monarch.

People should be and are outraged and he gets away with it because we have an ineffectual legislature that continues to allow it and a VIAG that will never look into it nor prosecute.

People should be and are outraged ...

So what should they plan to do about it?

People are outraged. Senators are up for re election and some have already started campaigning. Time to demand the senators reign Mapp in or they lose our votes.

I've written several senators. Everyone should.

Here's more spending:
$16,500 for chauffeured cars
$10,000 for local dining

so what can we do as private citizens? The senate won't help. can we demand a town hall meeting? Corner him at No Bones? By the way i almost got hit head on by a government vehicle, licence plate number 1, followed by another government vehicle. It was flying down east end road on STX right down the middle of the road heading east
