Hello

I am a small contractor living in California and am trying to get as much info as I can on the need for home and small business contractors on stx.

Is there already A ton of fair priced contractors?

Is there enough work to keep income coming all year?

Is there a need for skilled contractors on stx?

I have 15 years of experience in home repair, re-model,and re design. I specialize in floor installation, repair, and maintenance.

I have also done allot of flood damage repairer and mold abatement.

Do you think relocating to stx is a good idea for me?
I really need to get away from California's economy. I planed on moving to stx in 10 years but if I can make a living now I would move asap.

Thank you for your opinion

Your reputation will be the only thing that will start you up down here. There have been alot of fly by nights that have come and gone so nobody will spend money on anyone just landing here. You will need to work along another reputable contractor and let people see your work. Then if you want, and you can get a shop lease, you can do it.

People are always looking for a good handyman down here.
If you are passionate about what you do then you will do well here.

Not sure about STX, but here in STT, if you show up and do good work, you can make a living ...no problem. I will hire you when you get here and if you do good work the word spreads very quickly....Most good handymen I know make $25 an hour. not a lot, but enough to make it here. Good luck!!!!

Heck, just getting someone who will show up is half the battle here.
